Micromax A70: 3.2 inch Affordable Android 2.2 Froyo Mobile

Micromax is ready to launch another Android handset in the market. The new Micromax A70comes with better specs than its predecessor A60. It is a 3.2 inch touchscreen phone and it resembles Nexus One in its looks.

Micromax A70 Technical Specifications

The new smartphone from Android will run on Android 2.2 (Froyo). It`s 3.2 inch touchscreen is a jump from 2.8 inch in A60. However, the resistive screen still persists which is a big turn off.
In contrast to Andro A60, Micromax A70 comes with a much better 5MP camera. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 3G, WiFi, GPRS and Bluetooth. For satisying the music lovers, the phone is said to have a multi-format music player along with FM Radio. Apart from Android being its OS, the phone also comes with a Java support.
The device is powered by a 1450mAh battery and provides around 4 hours of talk-time and around 200 hours of standby time. Other details of the phone are not known yet. We will update you as soon as we get any further information.

Micromax A70 Price and Availability in India

Micromax A70 is not officially announced in India. However, expect its price to be somewhere around Rs, 8,000 mark. It is expected to be available in the month of May all over India.
My Verdict
Micromax is now trying to come up with the requirements of the younger generation. As a result, we are seeing them manufacturing low cost Android devices. However, one important criteria of selection of handset is the screen, where Micromax lags. But, in terms of specs, the phone seems to be decent.

Kogan announced Kogan Agora (Android-based smartphone)

The Australian manufacturer Kogan announced today the Kogan Agora and the Kogan Agora Pro based on the Android OS. The duo will start shipping in two months. Both handhelds pack 2.5-inch TFT touchscreens, QWERTY keyboards, and 3G support in a neat Blackberry-esque package.
A month ago the Australian company Kogan Technologies announced its intention to make an Android phone by the end of 2008 using their outsourced manufacturing line in China. Seems like they were almost up to the task as they will miss the deadline by only a notch – the Kogan Agora should be available by January 29th 2009.
The new Android gadget has two different versions – Agora and Agora Pro. Both feature 262K color QVGA touchscreen displays, QWERTY keyboards, quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G (HSDPA) support plus Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio and a microSD memory card slots. Coming with a price premium of about 60 US dollars, the Agora Pro will also add a 2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and a GPS receiver to the feature pack.
Agora and Agora Pro will hit the shelves (first in Australia) at the end of January at prices of 190 US dollars (299 AUD) and 250 US dollars (399 AUD) with no network lock whatsoever.
Both are already available for pre-order at the Kogan online store: Australian and New Zealand customers should go this way, while all international orders are received here.
