One strange lacuna is the unexpected use of Android 2.3 Gingerbread as its operating system when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is already out. However, Motorola has confirmed that an OS update to the phone would be out in the first quarter of 2012.
Motorola Droid Razr is a secure phone and boasts remote wipe, PIN lock, and a government-grade data encryption.
It also features HDMI out, the low-power Bluetooth 4.0. Then it has Quickoffice for document editing, Motocast app to stream and download media to the phone from a corresponding desktop PC app and Smart Actions helps automate tasks while optimizing battery efficiency.
Razr also has a Webtop application like that in Motorola Droid Bionic and Atrix. Using this feature, the smartphone can be turned into a portable PC. Razr is docked into a Webtop accessory to activate a Linux-based interface capable of providing a laptop or Netbook experience. It is compatible with Motorola’s both Lapdock 100, the smaller pull-out dock and Lapdock 500, the larger 14-inch version of the same. To add to it is the optional HD Webtop dock that can be connected to a larger screen. These three kinds of docks are compatible with a range of Motorola handsets like the Atrix 2 and the Photon 4G.
