Just Yesterday, iPhone Dev team released Redsn0w v0.9.14b1 which has capability to Downgrade iPhone 3Gs running iPad baseband 06.15 to an Original iPhone baseband 5.13.04. What are its Advantages? In this post I'll explain and I'll also show you How can you downgrade your iPhone running iPad Baseband.

If you've previously upgraded your device to iPad Baseband 06.15, Just for Unlocking purposes then Now you can switch back to iPhone baseband and enjoy iPhone features which were disabled on iPad baseband.

Advantages of Downgrading

There are two major Advantages of Downgrading your iPhone running iPad baseband to iPhone baseband, And they are

1) With Official iPhone Baseband 5.13.04, You'll be able to use GPS on 3Gs which is not possible with iPad baseband (06.15)

2) Ultrasn0w is Compatible with 5.13.04, that means that you can Unlock your device.

How to Downgrade 3Gs running iPad BB.

To Downgrade, You must make sure that your iPhone is running 06.15 baseband or modem firmware.
Note: If your iPhone 3Gs have 3rd, 4th and 5th digit of serial number is 134 or higher (ie: xxx134...) then DON'T UPGRADE TO IPAD BASEBAND (06.15) or else you'll BRICK your Device.
To Check go to Settings > General > About and scroll down to check serial number.

Steps for Downgrading.

Step 1: Download Redsn0w from the above links, Extract Redsn0w using Winrar. Run Redsn0w

Step 2: Go to Extras tab, Click on Select IPSW and select the IPSW you are running.

(For example, If I'm running iOS 5.1.1, then Download 5.1.1 IPSW from the link above and select) If you already have IPSW then you don't need to download, just use that IPSW.

Step 3: Now Select your Bootrom. Yes, if you have New Bootrom and No, if you have Old bootrom.

If you don't know which bootrom you have then Here is a simple way to Check. Go to Settings > General > About, Now scroll down to see your device's Serial number. If 4th and 5th digit of serial number is more than 50 then you have a New bootrom and if it's 44 or less than 44 than you have an Old bootrom. Bootrom's of iPhone's with 4th and 5th digit between 45 to 49 varies. (eg: xx952...., Here it means that the iPhone was manufactured in 200952nd week)
Step 4: Shutdown your device. Press Power button until, Slide to Turn Off appears.

Step 5: Go back to Redsn0w Main screen and Click on Jailbreak Tab.

Step 6: Now Redsn0w will Start doing its Job. When Redsn0w asks you to select some options then.

Select 'Downgrade iPad Baseband' Option and click on Next.

(Also Deselect Install Cydia option if you already have Cydia installed)

Step 7: Follow the Onscreen Instruction to put your device in DFU mode.

Step 8: Now Redsn0w will Start Downgrading Process. Do Not Disconnect

Step 9: After sometime Redsn0w will show a Done message, This does not mean downgrading in finished, The Ramdisk process will continue on your
device.

Step 10: After Ramdisk gets launched and you see Pwnapple running in your iPhone, You'll be on 'Flashing Baseband' step. It may take upto 10 minutes, Patience is required.

Step 11: Once the Baseband is flashed, Your device will Reboot.

How to Take HDR Photos on iPhone 3Gs

With iOS 4, Apple added HDR photo taking capability in iPhone's camera app. But this feature was only for iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and 3Gs was not given this feature, even knowing that iPhone 3Gs hardware is capable of taking HDR photos.

People expected that Apple will include HDR feature for 3Gs in future updates. But even after the release of iOS 5, there was no sign of HDR in iPhone 3GS camera. My Cydia tweaks likeHDR camera enabler, HDREnabler etc. were released which can enable HDR on 3Gs, But none of them worked.

Today I'll show you 'How you can take HDR photos on iPhone 3Gs.' We'll be using third party apps and if you're Jailbroken then you can download them for Free from the below links.

What is HDR?

HDR Stands for High Dynamic Range, A high dynamic range image combines a series of photographs (usually 3 photos), each shot at a different exposure. The first photo is shot underexposed (Dark), Second with perfect expose and Third Overexposed (Light). Then All three photos are merged into one, This brings out more details.

Below is an Example of HDR Photography (The photos below were shot by professionals with their equipment)

Can you see How detailed are the photos, We can see Cloud details, Ground details etc. Which is impossible to get in a photo with same exposure. HDR combines 3 photos with different exposures and then we have a very detailed picture.

iPhone's inbuilt HDR feature.

If you have an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, then you can simply use the inbuilt HDR mode in Camera app.

How to Take HDR Photos on iPhone 3GS.

Apple kept iPhone 3GS away from inbuilt HDR feature But that doesn't mean that you can't take High Dynamic Range photos. There are a plenty of third party apps which allow you to do HDR photography using 3GS.

Here are some Best Apps, You can Download them from the link given below.

1) True HDR

This App is very popular and shoots Amazing HDR Photos. I've tried this app on my iPhone 3GS and it was just awesome, at least I liked it. I recommend this app.

2) Top Camera

This is a full fledged camera app, It has lots of camera features. It also shoots HDR photos. If you're looking for a complete All-in-one camera app then your search ends now. I've used top camera and it is really amazing.

3) Pro HDR

Pro HDR is also a good app and its very simple to use. It can shoot HDR photos and you can also use it for shooting normal photos. It allows users to capture Manual HDR photos as well as Auto.

4) HDR FX

HDR FX allows you to have Single-Photo HDR Effect on your photos and at the same time to experience special functions that HDR FX provides. It helps you make photos look more impressive and gorgeous than what you experience in a real world.

With HDR FX you can also share your photos to Instagram.

So using these apps you can capture amazing High Dynamic Range photos on your iPhone 3GS or other iOS Device.

Below are Some HDR Photos taken by me with my iPhone 3GS using Top Camera ;)
